more wise words from the King of Good Analogies

so the quest for more wisdom continues and the King of Good Analogies is here to intro another book, this time not by Randy Pausch because he has already moved on and dont tink he can write anymore books but now by Mitch Albom and it is called The Five People You Meet in Heaven:

no it is not what you are thinking this is not a christian book because i have come to realized that balance is the key to success and my success as the king of good analogies and my quest to wisdom do not just come by reading christian books and yes they are good but i always gotta strike a balance. and the truth is, not every christian book is a good book and not every good book is a christian book.. this book is good man.. i dunno if it is a new or old book but i just pick it up at Borders and i got glued to it.. let's see some quotes from the book..

the scene was a certain Blue man's funeral and he said this:

Look at those mourners. Some did not even know me well, yet they came. Why? Did you ever wonder? Why people gather when others die? Why people feel they should?

It is because the human spirit knows, deep down, that all lives intersect. That death does not just take someone, it misses someone else, and in the small distance of being taken and being missed, lives are changed.

wah when i read this part i am like *stunned* this is so true, so true that it hits me so hard and i just gotta stop reading and think about everything.. phew.. great bk.. go get it.. $15(incl GST) is cheap for a change of concept about life..

self evaluation

a recent thorough self evaluation make me understand and open my eyes to how low the rating i could be standing right now and though alot of factors are not up to me to decide but i still see that there are alot of things that i can make a difference in. we make not have a say over everything that happens in our lives but it does makes alot of difference if we change what we can change instead of whining and worrying about what cant be changed. i think alot always, especially when i am alone.. actually i love to think so i took today this holiday to be alone and relax and just do what i wanna do.. felt good and refreshing and decided to change the way i deal with a number of things..

as the king of good analogies, i decided to end off the Dave's Thinking Day with this quote from of course Randy Pausch:

"we cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand."

and another by Rev Dr AR Bernard"

"insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a difference set of results."

so i am expecting changes in my life...

i just saw something in my friend's blog that kind of affected me.. sometimes somethings happen in our life and result in a series of chain reactions which make it impossible for u to live the life that you once lived. things we say and do really make or break people's lives.. so here i am to say sorry to all i have hurted through words and actions.. sorry world.. i tink i had been a real crude man..

i like something Randy Pausch said this The Last Lecture:

Experience is what you get when you didnt get what you wanted

go get this book man.. it makes me think alot..

Brooke Fraiser is damn good..

This is my prayer in the desert
When all that’s within me feels dry
This is my prayer in my hunger and need
My God is the God who provides

This is my prayer in the fire
In weakness or trial or pain
There is a faith proved of more worth than gold
So refine me Lord through the flame

And I will bring praise, I will bring praise
No weapon formed against me shall remain
I will rejoice, I will declare
God is my victory and He is here

This is my prayer in the battle
When triumph is still on its way
I am a conqueror and co-heir with Christ
So firm on His promise I'll stand

All of my life, In every season
You are still God
I have a reason to sing
I have a reason to worship

This is my prayer in the harvest
When favor and providence flow
I know I'm filled to be emptied again
The seed I've received I will sow
