I wanna stand on His holy hill..

Psalms 24:3-6
Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the Lord, And righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, Who seek Your face.

this is a verse that i have not come across for a very very long time.. i tink the first time i seen this is when Sheila Jang ask me this qn:

"who will stand on the hill of the Lord??"

being the egoistic me i say i will go check but actually i really dont know.. thank God she didnt demand an answer on the spot or i will be so paiseh.. but i went to search all the bible commentaries i know and i found this verse.. but it didnt have any particular effect on my life at that point of time sad to say.

so what happened was.. just now.. i was jogging/cycling/rowing/swimming at tampines gym and pool and God spoke to me this verse.. then as i am working out losing fats i begin to meditate on this.. what do you mean by stand on His holy hill?

i begin to understand some stuff and thank God that He was amking things clear to me. what happens when people go to God's hill, or should i say mountain?

Moses: went up the mountain and spoke to God "face to face", at least he saw God's back and fingers because God wrote out the laws with His own fingers.

Abraham: went up the mountain and sacrifice his son but saw God's providence and experienced God's character in a way no one ever experienced at that time

Elijah: Elijah was on the mountain when God was not in the wind, not in the earthquake, not in the fire but came in a still small voice..

so mountain is a place of meeting of the Lord. even Jesus prayed on the mountain, transfigured to Peter, James and John on the mountain. so mountains are places of experience with the Lord.

Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart

what do u mean to have clean hands and pure heart? i would interpret it as the condition of your heart which lead to the actions of your hands. note that it is not just about not sinning and not thinking about sinful things.. because if it is so then nobody can stand before God. but it is the motivation in your heart and the actions that result from that motivation. God begin to tell me the things that i have in mind. i wanna do this i wanna do that then one by one He question me what are those goals for? hmm.. i tink he is doing a spring cleaning in me this yr..

but the thing is u wanna hear from God? you wan an experience from Him? check your heart? are u doing things for Him or for hims and hers in your life? even if u wanna meet God, what is it for? check your heart tonight before u bend your knees and pray? u nv know when your hands are clean and your hearts are pure then God will meet you.. your bed will become like the bush, burning and nv burn out.. your room will have an earthquake and wind and fire and God will come in a still small voice.. haha.. u never know..

BUILD the right atmosphere for God to visit you.. BUILD the right heart for God to stay in you.. BUILD the right hands for God to move through you..

thank you Holy Spirit....

:)
